‘The real adventure is the friends you make along the way’

A special infusion of RPG fighting action, strategic map play, and social mechanics; balanced into a thrilling adventure. Ashborn monsters erupt across the land. You must learn to build a compatible team that, together, can vanquish your foes. Build your unique community and spread across your personal map. Fall into the style; designed, modelled and animated from scratch by our talented team.

Game loop

Find yourself in a newly generated world, your village at the centre. A terrible disaster has taken place and a new mutant enemy has ravaged all the land around you. Make friends with any of your fellow villagers to form a party and populate your town. With friends behind you, collecting items and magic along the way; you can complete quests and expand territory by defeating the Ashborn in combat. Ultimately understanding the nature of your world, of the disaster, and the Ashborn.

Mix the characters in your party to best suit your current quest and jump between them in battle strategically. Equip them with combinations of weapons, armour and spells that can be bought or looted throughout the game. Winning in combat relies heavily on skill and timing. The Ashborn enemies come in a range of shapes and sizes, attack in groups and have abilities to counter yours, or to be taken advantage of.

Art

The Ashborn universe is beautiful; all crafted with love by the Fireslug art team. Incredible  affection has been poured into this game’s aesthetic.  Please check out the gallery for a few concept pieces, all the fantastic imagery we have across the site, and social media platforms. Who’s here?

Each character is uniquely generated and mortal, with their own personality and occupation. You can organise the members of you village into their occupations, tailoring them to those roles as well as for combat. Build relationships by battling or completing quests, and reap rewards based on affinity. 

The enemy are the Ashborn, a mutant class of being that plague the world, where they came from and why they are here will be up to you to find out. The four elemental mountains; Fire, Thunder, Rock and Mist are sure to offer some information, their characteristics are reflected in the Ashborn. Closer to home, there is a shrine to a Goddess in your village, and there you might also find some answers.

For the final release we will include a local multiplayer mode. You will be able to invite your friends to trade, spar or defeat the Ashborn together!

Map

A procedurally generated map creates high replay value, and requires skill in strategy from the player. As the rings of hexagons extend away from your town, the ferocity of the Ashborn increases, and so does the value of the loot. Ruined outpost settlements are found as you expand towards the four huge mountains in the distance. However, be careful not to stretch your forces too thin, as the Ashborn will gladly reclaim old ground.
